MN-500 Bridge Mode slowing up whole network

Well, a while ago I was having trouble with my MN-500, not being able to
configure etc. It finally snapped out of whatever it was in and I was able
to login to the
basestation and "flip the switch" to bridge mode.

Before I go on, lemme just say before doing this, I had the mn-500 uplinked
to our netgear router (through the modem port). Internet between the 2
computers (ethernet) connected to the MN-500 was great. They were also able
to share files between each other (but not see other computers on the
uplinked network). Both computers were using ethernet.

After switching to routing mode, I can see and share resources with all
computers on the network, however the 2 computers uplinked via MN-500
experience slow internet connections.

Actually, what I mean by slow is that it just takes a long time to perform
actions. Pages load faster in general I guess (not as fast as usual though)
but when I click a link, or type a new address in the address bar, the
initial load time is pretty long. ie. opening up ie and going to google
would result in a 5 second wait before google actually starts to load, or if
I click a link from a google search, it would take x seconds before that
page would actually begin to load. (make sense?)

Not sure what to do. I mean, I could just reset the mn-500 and go back to
the way it was (uplinked via modem port) but then I sacrafice shared
resources on the rest of the network.

Just to confirm my suspicions I did go ahead and plug in my desktop directly
to our main network (bypassing mn-500) and everything was back to "normal".

Then today, our entire network was slowing down/experiencing dropped
connection/laggy response. I unplugged the MN-500 from the network and
everything was cherry again. What do I do? Get a new new wifi basestation?
I'd rather use what I have if it will work properly.

you know what, forget it. I'm just gonne leave it at some how the mn-500 was
"damaged" during my move because just now after resetting it (yes, with a
paper clip in the little hole/blue button) I can not access it YET AGAIN to
try and configure it.

It's more hassle then it's worth to try and deal with it, I think I'll go
out and get a new one or something.

Thanks anyways eveyone.
