When I try to run the setup and Network Utility CD disc
that came with the MN-100 wired base station, I get the
message, "Unable to install because a newer version of
this product is already installed." By clicking OK, the
next screen says, "Installation incomplete - The
installer was interrupted before Microsoft Broadband
Networking could be installed. You need to restart the
installation and try again." I removed the existing
Microsoft Broadband Networking program with the
Add/Remove programs utility and tried reinstalling. The
setup wizard now starts, but after a few screens I get
the message, "Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) is not
installed." When I check in the Windows Components under
Network Services, the box is checked. Trying again, I
get the same messages every time. Can anyone help???

from you add remove programs and then do a fresh install.

If anyone else experiences this problem, here is the
correct answer from Microsoft. I used it and it worked:

"This error normally occurs if the services Universal
Plug and Play Host and SSDP Discovery Service are not
started on your computer. To resolve the issue we need to
follow the steps given below:

1. Click Start-> Run, type: services.msc.
2. Right click the service name SSDP Discovery Service
and click properties.
3. Choose Startup type to manual and click Start and Ok.
4. Right the service name Universal Plug and Play Host
and click properties.
5. Choose Startup type to manual and click Start and Ok.

If the issue persists try to setup the MN-100 base
station settings manually using the URL given below:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-
us;810964

After performing the steps above try to install the
software and you should be able to install the Base
station successfully.
