I cannot login to the router in order to update the
firmware and fixes. I have tried my password, i've reset
the router and used the default password and nothing
works. I really need those updates, because my router
drops connection on a regular basis.

I have UNinstalled the Microsoft Broadband Networking
tool and tried to reinstall it, but I get hung up towards
the end. It says I may have a firewall on but the only
firewall left on is thrue my modem which cannot be turned
off. For the record I have checked both Firewall sources
in Win XP (LAC from Network Connections; and Tools from
IE) and both are off.

I have Win XP Home Edition and my Internet connection is
thrue a DSL-1000 modem (MSN), 10/100 Ethernet port. If
anyone knows anything about this issue I would appreciate
some help. Thanks in advance, JC

This Knowledge Base article describes how to manually update the firmware on
the MN-100 if the automatic doesn't work:
