firstly I should make it clear that I am in fact using a wireless LAN
adapter and I apologise if I used the wrong term in my original post.
The problem seems to be that I am only able to get the PC with the
wireless LAN adapter connected to talk to the notebook if I put them in
a different range of IP addresses. In other words in a different subnet
range. This seems to me to mean that I then have to use some sort of
bridging facility across the two networks. Is this correct? Or should
I be able to put the same IP address range for both the wireless network
connections and the hardwired network connections. Of course using a
different IP address but at least within the same subnet. At the
moment, I cannot achieve this.
