mix wired and wireless?

I've got a wireless router with 4 rj-45 plugs on back. The desktop is
connected to it by wire. I just got a wireless card and the old
notebook doesn't have enough resources to run it. Can I go wired to it
from my notebook with a pcmcia ethernet card?

Sure. My network has three wireless PCs and four wired PCs. It'll work
fine.
