Missing xp firewall

I disabled the XP firewall.

When I go back to check it, the advanced tab where the
firewall option is is now missing.

What happened?

How do I get it back?

What type of network connection is it? Some connections don't allow
enabling the firewall. Examples include:

1. AOL connection.
2. Network Bridge connection.
3. LAN connections that are part of a network bridge.
4. Home network connection on an Internet Connection Sharing host
computer.
