Hi All!

I have a Windows Server 2003 R2 Server that appears to have lost most of
it's Performance Counters. I followed the steps in the MS KB article 300956
(http://support.microsoft.com/kb/300956/en-us), however, after a reboot, the
counters are still missing. I was wondering if anyone had any idea of how
to resolve this issue/rebuild the Performance Counter list?

Thank!

Paul

Hello Paul,

Thank you for using newsgroup!

I think there are other problems. Please let me know the following things:
1. Which counter has been missing?
2. Check event log to see if there is error occurs. If you can find the
error is related to Performance Counters, please send the detailed error
information to me.

Thanks & Regards,

Mike Luo

Hi Mike!

I am actually going to repost this question in the General Newsgroup. I
didn't realize which group I had posted in (not paying attention). Sorry
about that. However, the quick answer to your question is a lot of the
counters are missing. I will work on a list (it'll be long) for the repost
in the general group. Unfortunately, the errors for Performance Counters are
all related to the counter is missing. I don't have any idea when,
specifically, those errors started.

Thanks!

Paul

Hello,

Thank you for your response!

I didn't find the post in General Newsgroup. Did you receive any replie in
that? This issue had better be posted into general newsgroup, because this
newsgroup is focused on network issue.

For the further troubleshooting, please save Applicaion and System event
log into .evt files and send me the files.

If you have any questions, please feel free to let me know.
