I installed a wireless network adapter on my WIN 98
machine. NetGear (my wireless router company) told me
that I need to contact Microsoft to help me "bind the
TCP/IP configuration with my network card" - My wireless
network card is properly installed, but under Network,
Configuration, "Installed Network Components," there is
no "TCP/IP-> Wireless Network Adapter" entry - any ideas?
Thanks.

In the Installed Network Components list, select
your wireless network adapter, click Add>>Protocol>>
Add>>Microsoft>>TCP/IP

Voila!

I had a similar problem, tried you solution, but still
had a blank "TCP/IP" without the pointer to the device.
Any other suggestions?
Thanks,
Tom

Everything is probably OK. Try using the network connection.

If a computer only has one network adapter, the adapter name and
protocol name appear in the list of network components, with no
explicit indication of the binding. For example:

Client for Microsoft Networks
Ethernet Adapter
TCP/IP
File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks

If a computer has more than one network adapter, the bindings are
shown explicitly. For example:

Client for Microsoft Networks
Dial-Up Adapter
Ethernet Adapter
TCP/IP -> Dial-Up Adapter
TCP/IP -> Ethernet Adapter
File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks

This makes sense. I only have one and it is working. (I
thought this may have been a factor to some other network
issues I was having.)
Thanks again,
Tom
