Not sure if this is the right place to ask this, but...not a big deal..

After the last few MS autoupdates I have noticed that my status icons for my
LAN and VPN network connections do no show up on my taskbar.. My VPN icon
does not display when I make a connection, So I have to open My Network
Places to disconnect..

One more thing .. they will return if I log off and then log back on and
operate normally..

anyone else experience this..???

am running MCE2005..

Jim
I'm having a similar problem, except that rebooting doesn't help. If I
restore to August 11th the problem goes away. It appears to have something to
do with a combination of McAfee Update and Microsoft update occuring on the
same restart. Obviously I haven't figured it out yet.
