missing network devices

I cannot see any of the computers in my workgroup or any
of the shared devices in the network devices area of the
MS broadband network utility. I have checked all of the
settings over and over in the book and in all of the help
sections. If anybody has any suggestions please help.
Thanks ahead of time for anybody who reads and responds
to this post.
