Missing logon screens

I have a problem similar to one already discussed.
Some of my ME machines do not display the Domain Logon
screen, merely the windows logon screen.
I have used all the suggestions in Article 141858 however
none of the suggested remedies have worked. A complete
wipe and reinstall solves the problem, however in 3 of the
7 affected machines that is not a viable option. Is there
some registry entry i have missed, some network setting i
need to change... anything anyone can suggest?

I have been at this problem for 10 days now and still
cannot resolve it.

Any one got any hints?
