Migrating files from Novell share to Windows Server

Hello,
my goal is to migrate files from a Novell share to a Windows share
without losing the permissions on the share.

We activated CIFS on the Novell share and then I tried to copy the
files via Robocopy with the /SEC option. While doing this, I get an
error that the source is not NTFS. This is true, but I thought that
CIFS could simulate this.

So how to I copy files with their rights from Novell to Windows? Is
there a possibility to do this with robocopy or do I have to use
another tool like Quest or better a freeware tool.

Thanx
Paul

Which server does your authentication? If it's windows, you may just copy
from the share using explorer. If the directory service still is the novell
server, you would need to migrate your users first if you plan to get rid
of it.

Use a free tool to document the rights... then robocoy using mapped
drives... Much easier
