Middle East Wireless

I'm going to be in the middle east region soon.

Can anyone say reliably whether there are usable hotspots anywhere over
there? Probably gonna be running around kuwait and up into iraq alot.
Everyone I've talked to so far said nothing over there in that region is
running industry standard and I fail to believe that

The Middle East is a pretty economically diverse area, though in general a
little behind the times technologically compared to some other places of
similar development level. In Dubai you will find the occasional hotspot. In
Sanaa you will probably not. I have no experience with Kuwait but it's
always worth a try.

Internet technology wouild be an exception to "everyone"'s assessment. It's
as standard as anywhere else.
