Hello,
I recently purchased a Microsoft MN-720 Wireless card from ebay.
I have installed the card in an IBM ThinkPad T40 laptop, running
Windows XP Pro, I also have a 11Mb Linksys Access Point. When I reboot
the laptop and the card attempts to connect to the Access Point I get
the dreaded blue screen. If I boot the laptop with out the wireless
card it boots with no problem. Once the machine is completely booted I
can sometimes insert the card (using the Microsoft Utility) and the
card will connect to the access point and work fine, other times I get
the blue screen. When I repeatedly get the blue screen I have to
either try rebooting the machine and try using the last know good
config, some times that works. Other time I have to reload the driver.
Has anyone run into this before or have an idea that might cause this
problem.
One other item. I purchased this network card from ebay. It was new,
and still sealed but there was no driver CD. The drivers and utiliy
software I am using I downloaded from the internet. Since I could not
download the actual driver from the Microsoft web site I am tring to
use a driver that another person posted to Driver's Guide.com
Does any one happen to have the actual driver / utility CD for this
card that they would be willing to make a copy of, or know how I can
contact Microsoft to get a driver cd from them.
Thanks,
Del
