Where can I buy a GOOD high quality kit to use the net for voice calls. I
want a microphone/headphone?

Indeed. £10? String and tins is about the marl at the price.

Plantronics won't be up to Sennheiser, but I have a headset from them
that does a reasonable job.

They even make one at ~£10, but I wouldn't touch it with a bargepole.

I had a feeling that the speech bandwidth on VoIP was even less than
that (300 - 3300 ?) for "standard" voice calls?

That being the case, it'd probably be a waste of money buying
expensive kit?

True if the only thing you plan to use the headset for is IP
telephony.

But if you are getting headphones, then you might as well get
something that works OK for other tasks.

I edit sound files grabbed from DAB broadcasts -- mostly opera. It is
sometimes easier to use headphones to hear what is happening than
speakers.

Anyone who pays several £X00 for a PC should be able to afford £20 or
so for reasonable "cans". You really can't expect much for £10. Paying
a hit more probably gets extra bits like the switch on the microphone
and volume control on my Plantronics stuff.
