My new house has 3 telephone points of which only one will be used for ADSL
& DECT phone ... do I still need to get filters for the other 2 points even
though they won't be used ??

You only need to filter the points that you plug in a Phone or fax.. You do
not need a filter on the extension of the Modem/router if you are not
plugging a phone into it as well .

In article <bqdkr0$5s5$(E-Mail Removed)>, (E-Mail Removed) says...
| My new house has 3 telephone points of which only one will be used for ADSL
| & DECT phone ... do I still need to get filters for the other 2 points even
| though they won't be used ??

You only need a filter if a phone is plugged into a socket which does
not already pass through a filter...

Which basically means you can get away with just one filter if you only
intend to plug one phone in at the filter position, or if the extension
sockets are wired through that one filter.

Hmmm

On a different point, if you have a domestic power supply as
unreliable as here, you might want to put a standard phone on one of
the extensions for emergency use - or have one near the DECT base unit
you can swap in.

YMMV.
