Well to answer my own question, I called Microsoft. They
were good about helping me. I told them what I had done,
and they said that's all that can be done. The two year
warranty hadn't expired yet, so they sent me a
recplacement router.
If you get a problem like this, do the steps below, and
if that doesn't fix the problem, you're out of luck.
