I know these things are limited by BT, but how long does it take from
signing up to being connected??

Have never been an adsl customer before so line totally inactivated if that
makes any difference??

I think you would probably get a better answer if you post your request on
the Metronet message board on this site

http://www.adslguide.org.uk/

BT will normally do the work within 4/5 working days... and normally you can
start using the service straight away.

This will probably be 1/2 days before the "official activation date" your
ISP will give you.

For Metronet it took about a week to connect me.
Service has been faultless, they are good people to do business with.
Only bad thing is the connection charge of ~£70, but you pay in arrears and
my last two bills have been £15.

I know but that is the maximum price. If you are a moderate user you will be
ok.

The setup charge does not include vat either. BUt Metronet have been
excellent so far, been on about 2 months, tech support KNOW what they are
talking about, no probs with connection and fast. Usual disclaimer.

yes, unlike some other sites (domain registration, etc) it does
say on .../adsl/paygo "Prices quoted are exclusive of vat"

I know a couple of people using it and both are very happy.
