Hi,

I'm currently on Tiscali unlimited but think of changing to the new
Orange/Wanadoo servive as there will be no additional costs other than
my mobile bill.

The Orange/Wanadoo service has a 2Gb download limit and i would like
to know what my average usage rates are.

Anyone know of an application i can download (preferable free) that
will allow me to log my usage.

Cheers,

Doug.

There are two that I have used and they are both good and free.

My preference 'Bandwidth Monitor' www.rokario.com

also Netmeter http://readerror.gmxhome.de/

I use NetMeter somewhat but I would ideally like one which could be a bit
more intelligent and ignore packets to other machines on my local LAN!!!
Netmeter can (as far as I can see) only be set to monitor an entire network
adapter.

It sounds like you're using a router, so you ought to be counting
packets on the WAN interface. If the router can provide appropriate byte
counters via SNMP, then PRTG is a possible answer
<http://www.paessler.com/prtg>. There is a Freeware Edition of PRTG
(limited in the number of sensors, but one should be enough).
