How To Measure Traffic Between Routers?

Is there a simple way to measure the amount of traffic over a WAN link
between sites? We don't have access to the router firmware so cannot check
logs.

Could we setup a W2K3 RRAS server between a router and the switch, change
the default gateway to be the new server, and have the RRAS route between the
switch and the router? Although that would measure all traffic going to the
one router, regardless of whether it was passed on to the remote router or
not.

Any pointers would be appreciated. Thanks.

The people who have access to the router's firmware do it for you. If they
are the ones with access to the router's OS,..then it is their job to do
that. If it happens to be the Internet Provider,..then that is part of what
you pay them for,...it is their job to monitor and know the amount of load
placed on the services they provide.
