Greetings,

Let's say I run a network with 20 machines (for the sake of example,
since my lan is actually 3 ).

Say my ISP gave me 1000Kbps/s DLoad and 512Kbps/s Upload.

How can I know how much bandwidth is used by each node on the network ?

Is there a tool which can analyse the output from tcpdump and say : host
xx represents 77% of the local traffic (inbound and outbound) (bastard,
he runs some peer to peer software )

I'm not interested in "what" flows but "how much" flows ... in order to
remap the network or ask this person to stop monopolizing the bandwidth ?

Thanks for your ideas and input

Get/install ntop (www.ntop.org), read the docs that come with
it, run it in webmode and have fun.

Good luck
