ME102 installation and configuration

I have a BUNCH of questions about the Netgear ME102 wireless access
point.

1. The installation appears to be complete. To explain it clearly, I
have a aDSL account and an Actiontec wireless DSL router in use, with
the wireless *disabled* on the router. Mostly I don't want any
possibility of the aDSL router being hacked wirelessly under ANY
conditions.

2) Next in the chain is a NetGear RP114 cable/DSL router, with one
ethernet port (connected to the ActionTec's one ethernet port), and
three computers connected to the LAN ports (out of 4 LAN ports
available).

3. One of the computers (the one with the AP) is running Windows 2K,
connects to the RP114 via ethernet, and connects to the AP through a
*different* ethernet card. The conneciton is via crossover cable.

DHCP is used *kinda* through the original setup. The Actiontec is set
to be at 172.16.0.1 so I can browse to it, but the ethernet port
negotiates DHCP to the RP114 (if I understand it right). The RP114 is
at 192.168.0.1 (so I can browse to it), but it assigns IP addresses to
the other computers on the network, including the Win2K computer.

Now for the questions:

1) How can I confirm the installation of the AP is correct? I use
the USB configuration manager and cable, and it gives me the USB stuff
described in the manual/reference doc. I try to use the SNMP, and I
get a "Access Point not found" right after I try to authenticate. The
2 lights on the front of the AP are on, and one of the network lights
in back is lit (the NIC is a 10mb/sec card, so both shouldn't light
up). I'd ultimately like to ping the NIC.

2) Given that this will end up being a small hotspot, what are my NIC
settings? I have a web-base hotspot package that give me access to
MOST of the NIC settings, but I can't seem to get the AP to work when
I get all the way through the setup and try to browse to the hotspot.
My test computer has a second NIC that's a wireless card, and I can
confirm that works by activating and browsing to the aDSL modem, but I
can't get to the other end.

I think I'm missing something madly arcane in setting up the two NIC's
on the Win2K box.
