Up until today I was able to access ME from 2000, but ME is now on longer on
the network (on 2000 network). Never was able to access 2000 from ME. Are
they compatible for home networking. Something in the password that is
weird. I have tried to change the guest password (incoming connections), but
it is a different password when I access the password properties for the
guest, can't change it, and I don't know what it is.(for 2000 access from
ME). Firewalls are disabled for 2000 access to ME as well.
Thanks in advance.

Re-established 2000 to ME network, briefly had ME to 2000 up, but couldn't
vise versa. So it seems I can only do one at a time, not both at the same
time. Can I add a second network connection in ME to access 2000?

Yes, they are. I've had networks of mixed MSFT OSes; Windows 98SE, Windows
ME, Windows 2000, and Windows XP on various networks without problems.

I have worked with the mixed networks on other people's networks, but not
on my own. I am not 100% sure of how the Win2K/XP passwords work, but I was
able to see my Windows ME computer from my brother-in-law's Windows 2000
computer last February, as well the other way around.

Last February's network only had password on the access to Windows 2000.
Once a user logged into an account on Windows 2000 all Windows ME shares
were visible to the Windows 2000 user, and vice versa. Windows ME shares
are password protected, so I needed to use a password to access them. I did
not need passwords to access the Windows 2000 shares; but that was a matter
of the manner in which my brother-in-law had configured his computer.
Network share passwords are different from system login passwords.
