MCC + network

I have been causing various train wrecks playing with MCC network settings.

MCC says that the computer MUST be rebooted for changes to take effect.

Isn't just taking the network down and bringing it up again all that is
necessary?

Multiple reboots start to take some time.

Yup, seen it dink up my /etc/hosts file, wipe out my custom
/etc/sysconfig/network settings,....

Depends on the change(s) made.

Major reason would be hostname/ip change. Then there are postfix
ramifications. If just tweaks on nic configuration, service network
restart should work.

All the above is a SWAG not knowing what you are dinking with.
