The 14Mbps kit is obsolete Ken - as in they no longer make it. I'm
sure its possible to find some on sale somewhere though.
I have had both here and real world speeds (on the same mains ring)
are about 80% of those quoted by the manufacturer. On different mains
rings you can expect it to be about 10% as it's going back through the
comsumer box.
Your 1Mbps connection will work fine - we use the old Devolo adaptors
to stream video around the house which uses 3-4Mbps max.
