what is the max. # id addresses a single nic can be assigned to? is there a
KB article or document mentioned that?

Way, way, way more than you will ever use.

I have no exact number. But if you hit the limit then you have a very poor
design/implementation of whatever it is that you are trying to do.

You should never need more than a small hand-full of addresses,....when the
solution is approached properly.
