Can anyone tell me what I can expect to get from Max dsl speed wise?
I am currently on a 1mb connection and unable to get 2mb.

I am 3.5km from the exchange as the crow flies and my line stats are as
follows

Line att down - 57.0db
noise margain - 22db to 23.8 db

Bt checker says 2.5mb or higher and another thinks it will be 4.1mb.

I will be happy with 2mb to be honest but more would be nice.

Simon.

Between 3.5-4 would be a reasonable prediction.

Thanks for that. I will be very happy if I get it syncing at that sort of
speed.

Simon.

Yeah had the Netgear dg834gt 108mbps wireless router for 18 months or so and
also got a dg834g in a cupboard as a spare just in case, courtesy of AOL
prior to my Demon migration.

Its not currently connected via ethernet as just put the router near the
telephone point so as not connected via an extension. I have my laptop
available to connect via ethernet when I need to though, why?

Simon.

I had to wait weeks until my connection settled down, you'll constantly be
getting drop outs with your conenction, it's a real headache but eventually
I am now stable (Doctor!) on about 6Mbit or 650k download speed
