It's been 11 days now since I changed to UKFSN and my speeds have been
consistently stuck at 2mb, never went up or down give or take a few k.
My stats today are

Test1 comprises of Best Effort Test: -provides background
information.
IP profile for your line is - 2000 kbps
DSL connection rate: 448 kbps(UP-STREAM) 8128 kbps(DOWN-STREAM)
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 1870 kbps

ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 8128 kbps 448 kbps
Line Attenuation 44 db 12.5 db
Noise Margin 7 db 26 db

I contacted my ISP a couple of days ago to query this and they said
wait for the 10 days.

So, any ideas what's happening?

Thanks.

PS: I moved out of a 2mb Virgin.net connection which worked fine until
the last few weeks.

Standard problem. BT have left the 2Mb/s cap on. If ten days have
expired, push the ISP to get BT to remove the cap.

It's Virgin; good luck, hope you get someone who knows what they're doing...

it's a stuck profile and you should not need to wait for 10 days.
Power off the router overnight if you haven't already, sometimes that
wakes it up.

It was quite obvious after a week nothing was happening. I told UKFSN
and they said just wait for the 10 days.

Done that twice now to no effect.

Thought so. I'll get on to them.

Thanks guys.

UKFSN chased Entanet up as a locked profile and the stats are now

BT Speedtester
Test1 comprises of Best Effort Test: -provides background
information.
IP profile for your line is - 6500 kbps
DSL connection rate: 448 kbps(UP-STREAM) 8128 kbps(DOWN-STREAM)
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 5998 kbps

Speedtest.net shows
Down 4965 kb/s Up 366 kb/s

Not quite MAXed out, but is that as good as it gets or do I need to go
through another 10 day test?

Thanks.

The IP profile is always a bit less than the absolute line speed due to
overheads. So you are getting near max. The speed test probably isn't
that accurate, or there are other factors such as delays in the ISP.

I see. Excellent, so I can take it easy knowing I am now 3x faster
than I was, and I don't need to worry about squeezing any more from
the service.

Does that mean the initial training is over now and I can switch off
each night?

You won't get much better than that. It looks like BT may have set latency to
interleaved instead of fast. With fast latency you can get an IP profile of 7150
kbps with an 8128 sync. You'll never get an 8Mbps download btw, it's not
possible.
