In my preparation for ADSL (two weeks to go!) I'm looking at my options
regarding filters. The master jack is in the kitchen, with a phone on it.
Having a run-of-the-mill filter hanging off it is going to look messy, it
is possible to get a different face plate that incorporates a filter?

Simon

It's worth pointing out that the face-plate filters filter the ADSL
signal out of all of your extensions. So you would have to connect your
modem to that socket.

You may want to try one of the cheap plug-in filters that look like a
normal 2-way adaptor.

I believe Clarity also sell a modified BT master socket which gets around
this limitation.

See http://www.clarity.it/telecoms/adsl_faceplate_mod.htm

You can get an NTE face plate filter or filtered sockets. check
www.bathford-broadband.co.uk, for the solwise range and at the moment
filters are post free.

The Clarity kit looks cool if a little pricey. Looks like I can use their
modified NTE5 faceplate and feed both filtered and unfiltered signals down
my existing CAT5 extension then break them out using the dual outlet
faceplate. A nice and tidy installation.
