Hello All,

We are receiving master browser elections from several workstations that
belong to difference subnets from where are domain controllers reside. This
began since we restarted both of our domain controllers.

Can someone please help with some ideas?

Thanks
Yorgy

The first thing to check is WINS. Browsing fails in a routed network
without WINS working properly. The segment browsers need WINS to find the
domain master browser. The clients need WINS to find the domain master
browser to get a browse list.

The standard troubleshooter for browser problems is browstat. See KB188305
..

....additionally, it's a very simple matter to disable the Compouter Browser
service for all workstations via GPO.

Thank you for the replies.

By disabling the browser service on all workstations, doesn't that prevent
users from accessing network shares? or are you suggesting temporarily
disabling it and renabling?

No - it keeps them from participating in master browser elections.

Nope - keep it disabled. It's a simple fix.
