Our ISA Server 2004 server (Windows 2003) keeps trying to become master
browser, and we don't particularly want this to happen. I thought only DCs
should be master browsers?

Is there a way I can stop it from doing this?

Hi,

Here is an article that might be able to help you out.

Troubleshooting browser Event ID 8021 and 8032 on master browsers
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/135404/en-us

If you can't solve your problem by suggested solutions in this article, can
you post back with specific Event IDs that you are getting on your server.

If your ISA server is a member of the domain but not a DC or
more specifically the PDC emulator you can simply turn off the
computer browser service by disabling it.

thank you both, Michael and Miha.

The article was very useful in deciding what to do, and it seems that it
wasn't a necessary service for this computer. I've stopped it and everything
seems to be working, no errors now, which is a good thing.
