It will work, but you have to make sure that only one interface of the
server is using Netbios over TCP/IP. If there is more than one enabled, the
system will try to build a browse list for each interface. And there is no
way to merge lists which are on the same machine.
What you need to do is make sure all your DCs have only one interface,
or at least only one interface using Netbt. Local browsing should then work
without causing browser elections.
If each site is building a local browse list, a network-wide browse list
is possible if WINS is working properly. If you have a commom WINS service
(or WINS is set to replicate), all the segment browsers will be registerd in
WINS. The browser service can then find the browse masters in each segment
and build a combined browse list.
After you have fixed your interfaces, you may need to clean up WINS to
get rid of incorrect browser entries.
