Mapping to subdirectories below a share with the Net Use command is supported Windows XP it appears

Gurus,

I know mapping to subdirectories below a share with the Net Use command
wasn't supported in Windows 9x and NT but is supported under Windows XP. Is
this a true statement and is there a KB reference?
