I have W-98 and XP operating systems on our LAN.

I want to create a mapped directory ontaining files under
a sub-directory on a windowds 98 machine and call it say
drive G. When I do this using tools in windows explorer
and indicate a path like \\Computer name\C\XYZ\A\B and
try to read the files on an XP operating machine, it
shows tne root directory C on the W-98 machine adn not
hte files sontaining sub-directories.

I thought one can map only files and does not need to map
the whole drive.

What I am doing wrong.

Any experts out there?

You can't map files, but you can map folders.
