Hi,

Thanks in advance for any help. Basically we are getting a problem mapping a
drive to a 2003 using a DOS script. We have given full control share and file
permissions to the folder that we are trying to map to, we are acually using
the NU2 bootdisk to map the folder using net use \\servname\folder.

We have tried mapping with local admin, domain admin and still get a
username/password error pop up. I have disabled Strict Name Checking ni the
registry and we know that this used to work before we upgraded from 2000 to
2003. I am sure that this is just a registry key or policy setting somewhere
but cannot figure otu where.

Please can someone help

thanks

Vish

Vish,

Lower the restrictanonymous and lmcompatibilitylevel settings on the 2003 server. Windows
2003 enhanced security features require them to be lowered for downlevel compatibility. See
the following article on additional settings that may need to be changed and the two
mentioned earlier.

Hi,

I have lowered the lmcompatibility to level 0. Reset the restrictanonymouse
to 0 in the registry. The shared folder, everyone has full control.

However, I still cannot map the share using a bootdisk. I have created a
local user, given it admin rights and the boot disk uses this user for the
initial mapping.

I am ggetting "he password is invalid for \\server\share"
"type the password for \\server\share"

Thanks

Vish
