mapping drive via vpn on ME client

trying to map a drive to my vpn at my office I get
message - The password wasn't recognized. Make sure you
typed the password correctly, and try again. If the
problem persists.......contact administrator.

The connect to the office and the mapping works fine on
all machines that have XP and W98, but, though the ME
connects fine, it will not map a drive, giving the above
error message.
Anyone....?
