Mapped Personal Drives

I have a login script that maps 4 network drives. Every mapping works except
the users personal folder mapping, or P: drive. I think it may have to do
with sharing.

The 3 mapped drives that work are all mapped to shared folders. For example
in my script, there mapped as follows;

net use X: \\data\apps (apps is shared)

The P: drive doesnt work, but I dont have each users "personal folder"
shared out, I just have the "c:\Users" folder shared. Personal folders are
sub-folders within users.

My mapping command is;
net use P: \\data\users\%username% (everyones username has a folder of
equal value in the users folder)

I thought that would be ok, because i am able to map drives using Windows
Explorer on the users machine like that. Recently I created the login
scripts, because every so often the P: drive would disappear.

Do I have to share out each users folder and map directly to the share or is
their someway to avoid that?

I presume you mean \\servername ....

Try enabling "Always wait for network...." in your group policy
settings....as I'm assuming you have a domain.

IIRC, it's in Computer Config-Administrative Templates-System-Logon -

"Always wait for network at computer startup and logon"
