Map of Digital Divide?

* 3G coverage maps from all the networks (links to be added as I find
them)
* ADSL exchange maps

^ If only those 2 could be overlain we could see how bad the digital
divide is.

Surely someone must have done this before?

Does this work? Not finding my post code when I enter it on the pop up.

When I use the usual Sam Knows page, details of phone number and post code,
it does not error and shows me all the available providers, but says as the
line is in use can't have them.
Very odd.

David

I'm skeptical of the accuracy of the 3G (and GSM) coverage maps.
Despite all of them claiming I should get a good signal at home, I
don't.

They probably assume that you're in the open air, not inside a building!

Meanwhile, at the uk.telecom.broadband Job Justification Hearings, chose
the tried and tested strategy of:

They have done exactly this, but I've forgotten where it was, I'll post it
if I remember.

It wouldn't surprise me if the mobile networks didn't want to have their
coverage overlain for fear of being shown up.

Yes. Of the maps I remember they all referred to indoors signals.
wouldn't be surprised if they're inaccurate too ("only guidelines"

Before we got 3G on T-Mobile in the village, the coverage map showed a
small area with 3G, probably about 50m across just outside my local.

It existed and providing I stopped and did a manual selection (or maybe
stood a long time) I could use it to get on the net at 3G speeds.

Nothing inside the pub, 2g was ropey.

Now 3G works great in the pub, I'll have to find a different pub, or switch my
phone off

Phil

IIRC they have two codes on the maps one for indoor and one for
outdoor. I was looking at the outdoor one.
