How many static routes does Linux support

Hi, anyone know what limitations there are with regards to how many
static routes can be configured ?

Haven't looked at the source code, where you will get the definitive
answer, but with 253(?) routing tables available (ie., policy routing)
and even 10 routes each...

Many more than you would want to maintain by hand

A quick peek in .../include/net/ip_fib.h shows nothing smaller than an
int. A _very_ quick peek

As for route tables per se ...?

Well on at least one of the three (all of which should have similar sized
routing tables roughly) of our perimeter gateways (we are an ISP) we have
164284 at the moment. All handled via BGP though, however as far as the
kernel is concerned a route is a route.
