A survey conducted by PC Pro Magazine of over 2,000 readers has
revealed that many are unhappy with their current connection speeds,
the prices they're paying and the level of customer service they're
receiving.

This resulted in 17 per cent of PC Pro readers switching to a
different supplier during 2004, with a further 16 per cent on the
verge.

'That's already a third of the broadband population, but we expect
these figures to leap in 2005,' said PC Pro editor, Tim Danton. 'Every
month the prices drop, and more and more people are trying to switch.'

There was particularly bad news for the biggest supplier of them
all: almost three times as many people were trying to leave BT as were
trying to join it. PC Pro's survey discovered that many current BT
broadband customers were dissuaded from leaving as, when they phoned BT
to cancel their subscription, they were offered a lower price.

I guess that for many their 12 month contract is up. Lots of people
signed up with BT because they thought they had to!

Well I cancelled today having been with BT for 4 years and they were
reluctant to give MAC key. Reason is: poor customer service, slow
download speed, inability to talk to anyone - they put me through to a
florist when I was trying to get my MAC key! and not forgetting the
Yahoo "virus" that they bolted on.

Mine was up years ago:-) Then I upgraded to 1Mbps, but thats
nearly up as well:-) I signed up originally because they were the
only service provider where I am, and while the service wasnt
always perfect, it was as bad as some I've heard of, and prices
tended to go down rather than up... Now however BT are
really into ailianating their customers big time... Usage caps
forced changes of billing, and what amounts to forced upgrades
in adsl speed... With a total lack of regard for their customers..

Wham new T&CoS you will have this, that or the other, support
that cant give the same information to two customers in a row,
confusion about upgrade dates, charges, cap limints and payment
BT a communications company? Bulldust..

Regards,
Cliff

When my contract is finally up I know where I am going with broadband
http://www.reduceallmybills.com
1Mb for less than 20 squids, and 2 Mb for a little less than 25.00 no
download limits, no contract!!! 99% uptime, anti spam, virus checker,
datasafe services they got the lot.

I´ve allready signed up with several of their services and I am saving a
packet, no calls to India either!
yep this is the way to go...
