Hello Dragos,
That is what I have been doing , I created the profile on the client PC,
logged off and from another account I copied the profile, as below, to a
share on the server which was set to everyone at share level. The share
contained the user's profile folder which has inheritence blocked, the user
is the owner and has full control as does the administrator. At log on, the
wallpaper dissapears (it can be seen in the preview pane in
displayproperties>desktop) and selecting it again does not make it appear on
the desktop but I can add links and folder to the desktop.
There are strange things happening on this setup, I tried to alter an IP
address on the client PC yesterday (as admin) to be told I had insuffient
rights! I also tried the built in Administrator account with the same
result.
As an aside is there a limit to the number of simultaneous logons to W2003
server? I need to allow 20 "users" to logon at the same time.
Many thanks
TWK
