Does anybody have suggestions for managing contention on our village WLAN...
We have 1 central AP (BEFW11S4) accessed by 4 clients and two other AP's,
(which are DWL 900AP+'s - set in client mode) these two 900AP+'s also have
BEFW11S4's plugged into them acting as AP's for a few more clients each.
Our problem is, we (12 of us) are sharing a 1Mb low contention line, and we
find when one usenet user is downloading his videos, he usually 'sucks' all
the bandwidth from the rest of us leaving us all with very poor (modem
speed) rates.
What tools are available to help even this Bandwidth hogging out, so rather
than one user monopolising the WAN link, 4 users trying to download at once
could all have equal opportunity at the WAN connection, ans say still have a
256k connection each?
We are soon adding 4 more users and going with 2MB line, but are still on
budget so enterprise class equipment is out of the question for the most
part.
thanks again for any help
