Set up one computer with the IP 192.168.3.48, and gateway of 192.168.3.1 on
the interface with the other LAN. This machine will be a router for YOUR
machines. You will need two LAN cards in this machine. Plug one LAN card
DIRECTLY into the rj45 for the other LAN (internet). The other will go to a
hub, which plugs into your other machines. On the other interface card, put
an IP of 10.10.0.1
On the other machines, set IPs of 10.10.0.2, 10.10.0.3 etc, with gateway of
10.10.0.1
This should then set the other clients to route through your computer to the
internet. I suspect there may be another step involved here but I can't
remember it since I haven't used Win 2000 in a long time!
--------------------
BUT..................
--------------------
The much easier case is get the sys admin to give you more IPs for the other
machines, then you just need to set the IPs on those machines to the ones
he gives you, with a gateway of 192.168.3.1 and then just set up as below:
----PC 1
HUB ----PC 2
----PC 3
----'internet' cable
Hope this helps
