Hi experts,

I have just set up a mandatory profile for a user in a Windows 2003 server
box. Everthing works fine except the wallpaper is not showing up when the
user logs on. I have try jpg and bmp files. I trying to move the wallpaper
location around from a local file to a network file on a shared folder -
still no luck.

Any idea?

Maybe Active Desktop is disabled?

Group Policy: User Configuration/Administrative Templates/Desktop

You need to use BMP as the wallpaper instead of jpg.


In addition, try to enable the Active Desktop as Doug has suggested.

Thanks rebecca and doug.

Just out of coriousty, why do we need to enable active desktop? Isn't
active desktop for HTTP contents only?

As far as I know things have not changed since the advent of Active
Desktop - among other things it enables you to display jpeg files as
wallpaper (ie. without running a separate application) - See:
