Hi David!
What kind of Mac clients are you using (Mac OS 9 or Mac OS X) and how are
you connecting to the server (via AFP or SMB)?
AD can control some client activities, but can not manage Macs as domain
members, so this may not be the area you should be concerned with.
Have you checked the Event Logs about the disconnects? What do they say?
Are your servers running File Services for Macintosh?
