I don't really understand what you mean by snooper, but
1) root can change an ethernet card's MAC address if the card supports this
2) anyone can forge packets on a LAN with fake MAC addresses
3) MAC addys don't make it onto the Internet (an IP network, no MAC)
Relying purely on a MAC address is probably a bad security choice, just
like relying purely on say an IP
