M$ Outlook spam filters - what exactly are they?

I send email from a secure SMTP AUTH server, but one which is running
on a unix machine on the end of an ADSL line.

The ISP (Eclipse) assure us that the fixed IP is not part of any
dynamic IP block, and indeed we have never found this IP in any of the
blacklists, including those that claim to carry dynamic IP blocks.

Yet quite a lot of my emails end up in peoples' spam filters. Nearly
everybody is using Outlook. It tends to be consistent for a given
recipient.

I don't use M$ email software but have configured Outlook for various
friends, and the 'spam' detection feature seems to be undocumented.

What exactly does it do?

Some of the emails of mine that end up marked as spam are just a few
lines, with no attachments. If I was sending emails containing URLs
with numeric IP addresses I could understand what is happening

Do both forward and reverse DNS of your IP address match each other and
the FQDN which the server claims to be?

Apparently this is more complicated. Outlook looks stuff up in some M$
database, according to some article on the M$ website. It seems that
M$ are running a kind of a blacklist of email addresses and properties
which people have complained about.
