Hello,

I have Debian ftp server with vsftpd.
When I download file from server on windows client workstation my
transfer is on half speed of 100Mb (ap. 4-5 MB/s).
When I upload file my speed is full (ap. 8 MB/s).
When I do it the same on linux workstation my download and upload is on
full speed.
Windows and Linux client workstation is the same unit.

I have change Debian to RedHat but still the same problem.

What is wrong with this ?

Best regards
Waldek

This shows that your Windows client (software) is not capable of receiving
the file at full speed. What's the problem?

The subject should be "low transfer from ftp to windoze client".

My guess: You got some sort of desktop firewall or an anti virus
software on your windows installation, that inspects each and
every incoming package (but silently ignores outgoung traffic).
Disable and test again. Oh, and don't use the Internet Exploder
as FTP client, that thing sucks (by quality not download rate,
at least version 5 does. Version 6 and 7? I never tested it).
