Any modern computer should be able to do >95% on a 100MB LAN connection.
Do you have any firewall or network anti virus software on the server or
test ws? There's a bug in the ms firewall that chokes it on 100mb or
Gigabit ethernet.

I was only gettin ~15% through put on 100MB ethenet between winxp computers
before I disabled the firewall service. After words I get ~98%
