Hi Wireless Brainiacs,

Wonder if you could help? I have 4 computers. One is connected to 2Wire DSL
gateway the other three are wireless. When I check bandwidth on them at one
of those bandwidth speed metering sites the three of them report 4.5 to 5.3
Mbit/sec. One of them (a desktop with Netopia 3D Reach USB wireless adapter
doesn't go higher than 1.9 Mbit. The adapter itself reports 54Mbps
connection with the Gateway and IS connected to USB2 port.
What could be the reason for that. Do I need to change any setting in my
Windows XP Pro/Registry to remedy this.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Serge

Hi
It can be distance, noise, "lame" wireless hardware.
Very rarely it has to do with the OS. Check the TCP.Stack configuration.
Optimizing the TCP/IP Stack - http://www.ezlan.net/Internet_Speed.html
Otherwise, try to exchange Wireless cards, and see if it get better. If it
does, get a new card instead of the "Lame" one.
